Remembering the past
Yesterday, during my internship, I recalled a very special moment in my life: Professor Érica’s literature assignments. But before I share more about this, you need to understand a bit about why this moment was so special. At the school where I am interning, it is also the school where I graduated from high school in 2022. Érica was my Portuguese language teacher from the 6th grade to the 12th grade, and what impressed me the most were her literature assignments, both reading-related and focused on literary aesthetics, which were projects that led me to enter the world of the Language and Literature program. Back to the moment, I saw those students presenting their assignments and felt nostalgic because, many years ago, I was in the same place they were. I reflected on my entire journey and the paths I took to get where I am today: a student and a teacher.
